I graduated from University Hospital Family Medicine Residency program in 1990 and left for Nigeria to work in a Rural Health Program in 1991. I spent 3 years there supervising a program to teach Rural Health Workers, seeing patients in the outpatient clinic and taking care of up to 16 inpatients and 8 Tb patients. I have practiced Family Medicine the past 25 years for MetroHealth in an urban underserved neighborhood in Southeast Cleveland. Our office was chosen to be the Patient Centered Medical Home pilot, and I was the PCMH champion. I have done group visits for Diabetes and Chronic pain. I am currently involved in two Faculty Development Grants, teaching Systems of Care and Population Health.
