Scholarships can help a student meet expenses connected with a college education.
Some scholarships are for tuition only while others may help with tuition and once the tuition commitment has been met — assist students with books and supplies.
“Nearly 80% of Ohio University Lancaster students receive financial aid of some kind,” said Ohio University Lancaster Enrollment Manager Joshua Moore. “Scholarships are crucial in helping students be able to complete their degree without going into debt.”
New freshmen students are automatically considered for scholarships when they complete the Ohio University Admissions Application by the newly-extended January 31 scholarship deadline. All upper-class students can apply for scholarships at Ohio University (Athens or Lancaster campuses) through the Online Scholarship Application found by going to the OHIO Financial Aid Office Homepage, www.ohio.edu/financialaid.
“Our tuition is affordable at $2837 a semester,” said Moore. “In some cases, a scholarship can pay that entire amount and help take that burden off of the student and their family.”
“Our community has been very generous in supporting the higher education aspirations of central Ohio students,” said Moore. ‘Without the scholarships created by community members and area businesses, this wouldn’t be possible. It’s a wonderful thing to be a part of.”
Students interested in attending Ohio University Lancaster or Pickerington Center should apply by January 15 either online or in person.
Students can begin any of the 250 degrees Ohio University offers, and there are 12 bachelor's degrees and 13 associate’s degrees that can be completed at Ohio University Lancaster | Pickerington. For additional information, visit www.ohio.edu/lancaster.
