patrollwebOhio University Lancaster participated in the Remembrance Day National Roll Call from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 9 at the 3rd Floor West Green Patio on the campus of Ohio University Lancaster.

The event began with a welcome from James M. Smith, Dean of the Lancaster campus and a speech by Dr. Dennis Lupher, OHIO alum, emeritus associate professor of economics and a retired veteran with over 33 years of military service. OUL students, faculty and staff along with members of the community then participated in a reading of the names of fallen soldiers. A nationwide moment of silence was held at 2 p.m. followed by a performance of "Taps."

“It’s an honor to read the names of the fallen and recognize the ultimate sacrifice made by our military service members,” said Andy Ellinger, Communications and Marketing Manager for Ohio University Lancaster. “For me, it’s been a humbling experience and one I won’t soon forget.”
