Lancaster – An Ohio University Lancaster student is getting high praise for the work he is doing at Fairfield National Bank.  Alton Frizzell received the Fairfield National Bank Scholarship, which includes an opportunity to apply for an internship at the bank.
“During Alton’s interview for the internship, he mentioned that he was actually looking for a part time job,” said FNB Assistant Vice President Molly Bates. “So Alton was actually hired to be a float teller. That is basically a teller that works at various branches filling in when another teller is out of the office. Recently, however, Alton started working in our Commercial Loan Department as a part time Loan Review Analyst.”
The Fairfield National Bank Scholarship is for full-time or part-time degree-seeking undergraduates enrolled in or accepted for admission to Ohio University Lancaster Campus and Pickerington Center.  The student must demonstrate financial need based on federal financial aid standards, as determined by the University's financial aid office. Recipients must be pursuing a degree in applied management, finance, accounting or related fields.
Frizzell was the valedictorian of his class at Millersport High School.  He is now pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Technical and Applied Studies.  Frizzell’s excellent work has even been noticed by FNB President Steve Wells.
“We have been very pleased with Alton’s performance,” said Bates. “He is a quick study and a hard worker.”
Frizzell plans to sit for his Certified Public Accountant exam after obtaining the required credit hours.
