April 08, 2018 : Friends of the Library Author Event April 18

by Sarah Shy

Author eventOn April 18th Friends of the Library will be sponsoring an author’s event with a presentation and book signing by L.E. Hutchinson. The event starts at 6pm and is located in the Wilkes Gallery at Ohio University Lancaster.

L.E. Hutchinson will be presenting her first novel “Footprints in the Dust” which is based on her great-grandfather’s time during the Civil War. Hutchinson’s great-grandfather served in the 57th Ohio Voluntary Infantry. He enlisted in 1861, and then re-enlisted in 1864 placing him in the March to the Sea with General William T. Sherman.

“I want to put people there [Civil War], with all the hard times, love and despair that families went through.” Hutchinson says.

“Footprints in the Dust” has received five-star reviews on both Goodreads and Amazon. One Amazon review saying this, “What an amazingly descriptive book of one family’s journey through a troubling time in history. I give this book two thumbs and a big toe up on description and readability, almost like I was there in the general store! Many late nights spent going from one chapter to the next unable to lay it down.”

Hutchinson is from Logan, Ohio and has already published two children’s books and is working on her second novel about the Civil War.

After Hutchinson’s presentation she will be available to sign her books.

Door prizes and refreshments will be available.

Admission is free.
