April 06, 2015 : Study Abroad and Scholarship/Grant Info Sessions at OUL April 15

Lancaster – Students at Ohio University Lancaster are getting the opportunity to learn about how to make their dreams of studying abroad a reality. An Opportunities Abroad and Competitive Awards Info Sessions is being held on Wednesday, April 15, in the Brasee Hall North Lobby on the Lancaster Campus. The session is sponsored by Ohio University’s Office of Nationally Competitive Awards, Global Opportunities, and Global Health Programs. Representatives from the Athens Campus will be on hand to answer questions.

“Many regional campus students don’t think there are opportunities for them to study abroad, but that is not the case,” said Communication Studies Professor Candice Thomas-Maddox. “Students from the Lancaster Campus are taking part in many study abroad opportunities, and it’s a wonderful way to further your education.”

Information tables will be set up in the North Lobby from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Information will also be available on scholarship and grant opportunities. In the past three years, Ohio University Lancaster students have been successful in securing grants and scholarships to cover their Education Abroad experiences in countries such as England, Thailand, and Australia.

“This is an opportunity for students to ask questions and figure out if studying abroad would work for them and their goals for the future,” said Thomas-Maddox. “If a student has ever thought about studying overseas, they need to take advantage of this opportunity to find out what is available.”

Study Abroad information sessions were also held on the Lancaster Campus last fall.
