Lancaster – Students from Ohio University Lancaster will be taking a van trip together next week to go to the Fall 2013 Career and Internship Fair on the Athens Campus. Academic Advisor Kim Jeffers is leading the trip because she thinks it's important for our students to take advantage of the opportunities and resources the Athens Campus can offer.
"This is the first time we have offered a van trip to Athens for the career and internship fair," said Jeffers. "The Career and Leadership Development Center in Athens has access to resources and employers which may help our students find job opportunities."
The fair is on Tuesday, September 24 in the Baker Center Ballroom. It runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"Representatives from the Career and Leadership Development Center in Athens visited our campus last year seeking input on how they could better serve our students," said Jeffers. "One of the things students told them is that it is hard for them to get to Athens for the career fairs. So, we decided to see if OUL providing the transportation would help."
If you are interested in going on the OUL van to the career fair, contact Jeffers. You can either email her at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 740-654-6711 extension 215.
"Sometimes our students don't realize all the opportunities they have access to as Ohio University students," said Jeffers. "I hope several of our students decide to take the trip."
