Lancaster – Ohio University Lancaster is tops in basketball twice over. The women’s basketball team captured its 4th straight ORCC East Division Title over the weekend. Meanwhile, the OUL men’s team defeated Wright State –Lake on Sunday 77-66 finishing 12-2 in conference play and also winning the Ohio Regional Campus Conference East Division title.
On the women’s side, OUL beat Miami Middletown 81-48 on Saturday led by Morgan Kirkbride’s 19 points, Paige Stought’s 16 points and Sarah Miles’s 14 points. On Sunday, the Lady Cougars wrapped up conference play with a 77-49 win against Wright State – Lake. OUL had four players with double figures. They were Abbie Linton (22pts), Kelsey Lounsbury (14pts), Morgan Kirkbride (12pts) and Jasmine Craig (11pts). The team finished conference play with a 12-1 record and are 21-6 overall. OUL finished regular season play with a game against Ohio Christian on Tuesday.
OUL will also be hosting the opening rounds of the Ohio Regional Campus Tournament on Saturday Feb. 15 and Sunday Feb. 16. The women’s team earned an opening round bye and will play Sunday at 1:00pm.
On Sunday, the men’s team was led by Pat Blevins with 25 points, Alton Frizzell with 14 points and Korey Arledge with 13 points. The team has an overall record of 18-7 and finished regular season play Monday evening against Appalachian Bible College.
OUL earned a number 1 seed and a first round bye in the Ohio Regional Campus Tournament. They will play Sunday Feb. 16th at the Miami Middletown Campus. The game is set to start at 1:00pm.
