November 03, 2019 : Junior finds his path at Ohio University Lancaster

by Maria Polanco – mp254218@ohio.edu

dylanJunior Dylan James has a lot on his plate but is juggling everything life throws at him very well. Dylan is a full-time student but is also working part time on Ohio University Lancaster’s marketing team as a student writer. In the future, Dylan hopes to become a copywriter, in which he says some what runs in the family.

As a junior, Dylan has really enjoyed his time at Ohio University Lancaster, he says “It kind of took me some time to figure out what I wanted to do and who I wanted to be, and OUL has been very beneficial in the sense that it has afforded me the opportunity of time and decision, "I  really like  it here – I like the community, it’s smaller but you still get all the benefits of a big college, it’s just a smaller community.”.”

Dylan has hopes of declaring a major in Communications with a specification in English. the major in communication studies also equips students with the competencies most prized by employers including strong oral and written communication, effective interpersonal and group communication skills, critical thinking, meeting planning, and problem-solving/decision-making.

Dylan is a very easy-going, enthusiastic and determined individual. I have no doubt that Dylan will achieve great things not only at Ohio University Lancaster but great things in life.
