April 13, 2018 : Outstanding Student Leaders Named at Ohio University Lancaster

Ohio University Lancaster students Shelby Stevens and Rashaan Holloway have been selected as this months outstanding student leaders.

 

shelbyShelby Stevens graduated last Fall, cum laude from OHIO UNIVERSITY LANCASTER with a bachelors in Criminal Justice. Stevens is also a member of the Honors Program of Criminal Justice, Alpha Phi Sigma. She is a part of the American Red Cross and was deployed in September to help Texas during Hurricane Harvey. Stevens completed internships at Franklin County Emergency Management and Homeland Security as well as Baltimore Police Department. She does volunteer work for the Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT) in Franklin County, and currently serves with AmeriCorps as a reading tutor for third graders.

 

rashaanRashaan Holloway is a multi-media student, currently in Los Angeles interning at Stagecoach Entertainment before he graduates in May. Holloway is the first regional campus student accepted in the OU-to-LA internship program, and is currently executive producing OHIO UNIVERSITY LANCASTER’s upcoming Electronic Media Film Festival for SpringFest ’18 from LA. Holloway founded the student film festival last year as a part of SpringFest ’17. Holloway has performed in many OHIO UNIVERSITY LANCASTER productions such as the holiday show “A Christmas Carol: A Live Radio Play” and OHIO UNIVERSITY LANCASTER’s Fall production “Moon Over Buffalo - in which he received the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship – Alternate Nomination for his performance as Howard.

 

Each month, Ohio University Lancaster | Pickerington selects an outstanding student for the honor. Winners receive a $50 gift certificate, a sweatshirt and a certificate signed by Dr. Jim Smith, Dean of the University as well as the president of Fairfield Federal Savings and Loan. Fairfield Federal sponsors the program.
