Tickets on Sale for Alejandro Escovedo at Ohio University Lancaster

Lancaster, Ohio, February 1, 2016 – The Covered Bridge Music Series is proud to present roots rock stalwart, Alejandro Escovedo. Escovedo will be joined by violinist Susan Voelz (Poi Dog Pondering) for an evening of music in the newly-renovated Wagner Theatre at Ohio University-Lancaster on Saturday, April 30th, 2016.  Alejandro

“Alejandro Escovedo has been making great music for decades and crosses many musical genres.” said Covered Bridge Music Series Committee Chair Steve Wells.  “We are thrilled to be able to attract such a talented performer and artist to OUL and to Lancaster.”

Tickets are available with prices from $10-$20 at Hospitality begins outdoors at 7:00 p.m. featuring music by local duo, Hey Neighbor. Beer, non-alcoholic beverages and Bob's Backyard BBQ will be available for purchase. Theatre Doors open at 7:30 p.m. with Alejandro Escovedo beginning at 8:30 p.m.

tixAlejandro Escovedo comes from a large family that includes several professional musicians including brothers and percussionists Coke and Pete Escovedo, both of the group Santana.  Escovedo has performed and collaborated with Bruce Springsteen, Ryan Adams, John Dee Graham, Chuck Prophet, and in 1998, No Depression magazine named him Artist of the Decade. After experiencing serious health issues, he recorded his album Real Animal in 2008, Street Songs of Love in 2010 and Big Station in 2012.  All three albums were produced by Tony Visconti, a long-time collaborator with David Bowie.  Escovedo recently has been touring around tribute shows to musical greats Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, David Bowie and John Prine.

The Covered Bridge Music Series is a joint venture between Ohio University Lancaster Campus and The Lancaster Festival.  The purpose of the partnership is to showcase fresh and relevant musical talent providing discovery and enjoyment for the campus and Fairfield County communities and the region. The concerts generally take place twice a year (spring and fall) on the Lancaster Campus of Ohio University.
