September 17, 2014 : Study Abroad Info Sessions at OUL September 18
- Cheri Russo
Communications and Marketing Manager

Lancaster – Students at Ohio University Lancaster are getting the opportunity to learn about how to make their dreams of studying abroad a reality. Education Abroad and Competitive Awards Info Sessions are being held throughout the day on Thursday, September 18 in Brasee Hall on the Lancaster Campus. The sessions are sponsored by Ohio University’s Office of Nationally Competitive Awards, Office of Education Abroad, Global Health Initiatives, and Information and Educational Technology. Representatives from the Athens Campus will be on hand to answer questions.

“Many regional campus students don’t think there are opportunities for them to study abroad, but that is not the case,” said Communication Studies Professor Candice Thomas-Maddox. “Students from the Lancaster Campus are taking part in many study abroad opportunities, and it’s a wonderful way to further your education.”

Information tables will be set up in the North Lobby from 9:15 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.  Two different information sessions will be held for students in the afternoon.  The first session is open to all students from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. The second session will be for health-related majors and will run from 2:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.  A third session will be held for faculty interested in teaching in Education Abroad programs from 3:45 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.  All three sessions will be conducted in Brasee Hall room 302.

“This is an opportunity for students to ask questions and figure out if studying abroad would work for them and their goals for the future,” said Thomas-Maddox. “If a student has ever thought about studying overseas, they need to take advantage of this opportunity to find out what is available.”

Study Abroad information sessions will be held again on the Lancaster Campus in the spring.
