Lancaster - Skilled songwriter Joshua P. James, from Columbus, will be the opening act for Joe Pug at Ohio University Lancaster next month. Most often performing with his band the Paper Planes, Joshua will be doing a solo show here with his impeccable lyrics, haunting vocals and energizing guitar skills.

The combination of Pug and James will make for a great night of music. Pug is a singer/songwriter who is originally from Chicago, Illinois. The folk artist quit his job as a carpenter to focus on his music career. Pug attracted the attention of the music scene by giving fans free copies of his songs to share with friends. In the fall, the Festival and Ohio University Lancaster agreed to expand their relationship beyond the traditional summer musical events that made use of the outdoor resources of the campus for more than 25 years.The two organizations are working together to bring cutting edge artists in the fall and spring to the Lancaster Campus' indoor venue, the 500-seat Wagner Theatre.
The concert is scheduled for Saturday, May 4. The doors will open at 7 p.m. The show will begin at 8 p.m. A pre-concert party will be held in the Lancaster Campus parking lot from 6 to 8 p.m. with the Pizza Cottage Food Truck and a hospitality tent featuring a performance by central Ohio band Dying Breed. Reserved seats are $20 in advance, $15 for any college student (College email address must be used when ordering). Tickets will be $25 on sale at the door.
