To enroll as a student at Ohio University Lancaster Campus, a student must have a high school diploma or equivalent. The Lancaster Campus has no deadline for admission during any semester; however, prospective students are advised to begin the application process as soon as possible so that they may be given important dates and deadlines in a timely manner.

If you previously attended any Ohio University campus as a degree-seeking student, you do not need to reapply! Please submit a Re-Enrollment Form. If you have questions, please contact Undergraduate Admissions at admissions@ohio.edu.

How to get started

Freshman Applicants: Freshman applicants are encouraged to complete an online application for enrollment.

For freshman applicants who do not want to use the online application, please print and mail the alternative Ohio University Regional Campus Application (PDF) with a non-refundable $20 application fee.

Official high school transcripts or a copy of an equivalent record must be sent directly to the Admissions Office address listed below. Students with a home school background please review the home school admission policy for more information.

Transfer Students: To apply as a transfer student, applicants are encouraged to complete an online application for enrollment. Transcripts from all colleges previously attended must be sent directly to the Admissions Office address listed below.

For transfer applicants who do not want to use the online application, please print and mail the alternative Ohio University Regional Campus Application (PDF) with a non-refundable $20 application fee.

Placement Testing

All incoming freshmen or transfer students who have not taken the ACT or SAT or do not have English or math transfer credits must take a placement test. The placement test will determine a student's math, English, and reading skills. Academic advisors will use the results of this test to place students in the proper courses. The placement test requires advanced registration at no charge. No calculators are permitted.

Orientation

Orientation is designed to acquaint new students with the campus. Students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with admissions, registration, and financial aid policies and procedures; meet academic advisors to learn how to plan their schedules, and spend time with Lancaster Campus faculty discussing how they can best prepare for the first day of classes. In addition, students will be introduced to the library, computer services, and the athletics and activities department.

Your OHIO ID and password are required to register for an orientation. If you have not already activated your OHIO ID, you can do so at www.ohio.edu/myid. You will need your PID number (sent in your application acknowledgment letter) and birthdate. If you need assistance, contact Student Services at 740-681-3311.
