Counseling Services

A licensed social worker is available on campus two days a week for students who may be experiencing difficulties with stress, family, school, or other mental health issues.  The focus of the service is brief individual counseling with students, mental health consultation, and education.  These services are confidential and free to students.

Students may schedule an appointment through the Student Services Office or drop in and speak with the social worker, based on availability while on campus only.  If more extensive services are needed, the social worker will help the student to locate community resources, including New Horizons Youth & Family Center, which provides a limited number of sessions free of charge to OUL students who are referred.

Jenifer Fraioli-Hicks, LISW, will be available on campus Wednesdays from 10:00-1:00 and Thursdays from 1:00 to 4:00. Focus of the service is brief individual counseling with students, mental health consultation and education. Students may schedule an appointment or drop in and talk with Jenifer, based on availability. Faculty and staff may also drop in for mental health information and consult. If a student needs immediate assistance, he or she may speak with Jenifer only when she is on campus. Jenifer will not be available for crisis, emergency, or individual counseling outside of her regularly-scheduled days on campus.
