Computer Numerical Control

 

 

The manufacturing world is becoming more automated everyday, creating an ever increasing demand for qualified people to run and program high tech equipment. Numerical controlled machine tools are at the heart of Computer Numerical Controlled(CNC) modern manufacturing operations. This certificate program is designed to provide CNC skill basics that lead participants into existing manufacturing positions.

 

Course presentations include drafting techniques required to create the solid graphic model, used is high tech machining computer programs, like MasterCam. The operation of the machine tools and the programming are major focuses of this program. As a student, you will learn several methods of programming CNC machine tools, enhancing your employment opportunities in a high demand career field.

Note: Completion of Math 1200 (or equivalent) is recommended prior to starting this program.

 
 

Career Opportunities

This certificate program provides the student with a foundation for manufacturing and production-related careers.

 

General education and business-related courses also assist the student in managing and operating a business while laying the foundation for higher level coursework at Ohio University.
