Lancaster Campus

Welcome to the Ohio University Lancaster Campus. Ohio University Lancaster offers the academic foundation of a university education, the convenience of a small campus setting, the affordability of state-assisted tuition, and relevant education for today's competitive job market. We also provide convenience throughout Fairfield County by offering students the option to attend classes on the Lancaster Campus or Pickerington Center. Situated on 113 acres on the northern edge of Lancaster, the campus serves students from throughout central Ohio. A variety of associate's and bachelor's degree programs can be completed on the Lancaster Campus. Ohio University also offers more than 250 majors, which you can begin in Lancaster or Pickerington and finish in Athens, at another regional campus or online.


Dr. Linda Trautman, Assistant Professor of Political Science, was recognized as the campus Phi Theta Kappa Professor of Year at the June 2011 Honors Convocation in Lancaster. Dr. Trautman teaches a variety of courses in American politics. She researches and is professionally active in the areas of political socialization, redistricting and electoral and legislative politics.

Dr. Linda Trautman, associate professor of political science, presented at the 2016 Southern Political Science Association (SPSA) annual conference in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  She presented both single-authored research on the Political Effects of Felon Disenfranchisement as well as a presentation on Electoral Hurdles and Rainbow Coalitions in Descriptive Representation in Local Legislatures, a research collaboration with political science colleagues at other universities.


Ping-Yuan Wang

Ohio University Lancaster Assistant Professor of History Ping-Yuan Wang facilitated a workshop on “Designing and Teaching an OULN Course” at the RHE faculty conference. The workshop offered general tips, advice on practical matters, and a forum for new and experienced instructors to exchange ideas about effective teaching.


Jacqueline Elk, student

Jacqueline Elk is one of the Ohio University Lancaster | Pickerington Students of the Month. Elk is a Human Services Technology major with an expected graduation in 2017.  Elk is on the Dean’s List, President of Adults Belong in College, member of Alpha Phi Omega and Phi Theta Kappa and was a cast member for OUL’s Theater production of West Side Story.

Seth Gamby, student

Seth Gamby is one of the Ohio University Lancaster | Pickerington Students of the Month. Gamby is expected to receive his Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement Technology in 2016 and is a Criminal Justice major with an expected graduation in 2018. Gamby is a speaker and presenter of the Tyler Campbell Memorial Football Award and is a trainer at Title Boxing.

Mark Nevin

Dr. Mark Nevin, assistant professor of history, recently had an article published by the History News Network on the 2016 presidential race.


Associate Professor of Psychology Patrick Munhall is attending the Original Lilly Conference on College Teaching in Miami, Ohio.  He will learn more about evidenced based learning and teaching, flipped classrooms, incorporating critical thinking skills into cirriculum, and how to create dynamic online environments with free tools.
