With roughly 160 kids in the program between the high school and elementary school, Kids on Campus is a very important program at Southern Local Schools.

The program is partnered with Ohio University to empower at-risk children to realize their full potential through educational and recreational activities. The program allows kids to get help with their homework and even gives them opportunities to join different clubs depending on their interests. Including the high school and elementary school there are 19 clubs provided for the kids to join.

“One of our goals is to continue to grow in educational opportunities for our families and their communities,” says Susan Chabot, program coordinator for Kids on Campus. Susan also says that Ohio University and the Kids on Campus program enjoys partnering with schools and “We love to have our community partners/members come in and share with us their knowledge.”
