Our student services professionals deliver essential, proactive support to online and print-based students to ensure they maintain academic progress and develop a connection to Ohio University. Our services are available through eCampus, the University’s virtual gateway for education from a distance.
Our academic advisors work with students to plan a program of study based on career aspirations, personal goals, and academic performance. In this role, advisors help students navigate University processes and policies, and refer students to appropriate departments when needed.
The eCampus Success Center supports students through retention efforts. We provide a success coach who engages at-risk students in coordination with instructors, and fosters student persistence with timely contact at key points during the semester. Students who are struggling academically must complete an online probation workshop that was created in partnership with the Allen Student Advising Center, which provides a similar workshop on-campus students are required to attend.
We want all students to feel like they are part of the Bobcat family. We manage eCampus social media accounts, produce newsletters, and create other communications that include University news and images. These pieces support the efforts of our academic advisors and eCampus Success Center to help students feel a connection to Ohio University that goes beyond their academic endeavors.
