The 2018 Ideation Event is a three-hour idea-generating session hosted by the Office of Instructional Innovation. It is designed to help you sharpen and advance your ideas for instructional innovation into proposals that might be supported as part of the Academic Innovation Accelerator (AIA). This pipeline process will help bring your ideas into reality.
The event will take place on Friday, November 2, from 2–5 p.m. in Schoonover 450 on the Athens Campus. Speakers will open the event by discussing the AIA's third iteration. Attendees may come any time between 2:00–5:00 p.m.
Anyone is welcome who wants to explore ideas for the future of teaching and learning at OHIO! This includes faculty, staff, students, and community partners.
The Ideation Event will prepare you to develop an innovative academic idea for potential support through the AIA. Executive Vice President and Provost Chaden Djalali will be speaking at the event, along with Linda Rice, professor and chair of the English Department in the College of Arts and Sciences, and Brad Cohen, senior vice provost for instructional innovation.
After the plenary session, there will be time set aside for you to discuss your concept with colleagues, instructional designers, project managers, and other OHIO staff dedicated to this initiative. Attendees are encouraged to think about ideas at the course, curricular, and institutional level.
We will provide details at the event regarding next steps in the AIA process, generate ideas for consideration, and make visible the variety of resources at OHIO that support innovations in teaching. Come to the event prepared to share your ideas, receive peer feedback, and take a step toward implementing your vision for the future of teaching and learning at OHIO!
