In its continuing effort to reduce costs for students, Ohio University has negotiated with publishers to provide immediate access to digital course materials at a significantly lower cost. In fall 2018, students enrolled in select sections of certain courses will receive access to digital copies of their course materials on the first day of the semester, instead of being required to purchase a costlier physical copy that may take days or longer to get. The price of these digital materials will be billed automatically to each student’s account, unless the student decides to opt out of the pilot and obtain the course materials on their own.
If you do not want to participate in the pilot program, you have the opportunity to opt out. Fill out and submit the opt-out form via the link provided by your course instructor to remove yourself by midnight on Friday, September 7. If you opt out of the pilot, you will not be able to re-join the program, and you accept responsibility to acquire the course materials on your own. Please note: Because of the negotiated price, you are extremely unlikely to find an even lower price for these materials.

If you have already purchased your course materials but wish to participate in the pilot, you should try to return the materials for the price you paid. If you are unable to receive full reimbursement, contact the Office of Instructional Innovation to discuss your options.
