Benefits Open Enrollment Ends Friday

The following was emailed to benefits eligible employees on May 3, 2017.


Good Morning,

As a reminder, the annual Benefits Open Enrollment period will close Friday, May 5 at 5:00 pm. Please log in to My Personal Information (MPI) and access Self Service Benefits to complete your benefits enrollment. If you do not take any action during open enrollment, your current benefit elections will remain in place except the health care flexible spending account or the dependent day care flexible spending account. Federal regulations require employees elect a flexible spending accounts each year.

Benefit changes and elections made during this Open Enrollment period will take effect on July 1, 2017. Refer to the Open Enrollment User Manual for instructions to use MPI for Open Enrollment.

Please note that when adding new dependents, employees will need to provide documents to verify eligibility. Documents may be uploaded online during the enrollment process or submitted to the Human Resources Employee Service Center in HRTC by May 5th. More details regarding required documentation can be found on the Verification of Dependents web page.

Detailed plan coverage options are available on the Open Enrollment web page and were shared at informational sessions over the past few weeks. Open Enrollment labs (listed below) will be available for employees to access a computer and get assistance using MPI to elect benefits. There is also a computer in Human Resources lobby in HRTC for use. Please have your OHIO ID and password available as well as the required Multi-factor Authentication set up.

  • Wednesday, 5/3/2017, 8:00 am – 10:00 am and 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm
  • Friday, 5/5/2017, 8:00 am – 10:00 am and 2:00 pm- 4:00 pm


Open Enrollment is the annual opportunity OHIO employees have to make changes to their benefits coverage plan options. In compliance with Federal regulations, other than during the annual Open Enrollment period, employees can only change their benefits if a qualifying event occurs. Review the Qualifying Family Status web page for details regarding qualifying events.
