As an institution of higher education, it is incumbent upon us to maintain a workplace that allows employees to perform their responsibilities to the best of their abilities. One way to achieve this goal is to ensure that all supervisors know how to handle matters relating to discrimination and harassment.
The Office for Institutional Equity, in partnership with University Human Resources and the Office of Information Technology, is providing a training program for all employees and graduate students with supervisory or managerial responsibility. The training program, entitled "Discrimination and Harassment Policies," is an online module produced at Ohio University and presented via Blackboard. The training provides guidance about ensuring our institutional policies regarding discrimination and harassment.
Your participation will require that you log in to the Blackboard (https://blackboard.ohio.edu) course management system with your OHIO username and password, open the hyperlink labeled “Discrimination Policy Training Session” under My Organizations, and follow directions to view the D & H Video File. In order to do so, you must be pre-registered in the appropriate Blackboard organization (see contact for other questions below). The module may be paused for later viewing if it occurs during the same log-in. Computer speakers and/or headphones are required to listen to the audio portion of the module. Closed caption text of the dialogue is also available by clicking the “Notes” tab in the full-view mode of the Adobe Presenter window.
