Flu shots are available at the annual Faculty & Staff Resource Fair.
Human Resources has partnered with Anthem/Express Scripts to provide a more convenient and expanded free flu shot program. All employees and family members (7 years of age and older) covered by the University’s Anthem/Express Scripts health plans can receive flu shots from participating pharmacies during their normal operating hours. In most cases, flu shots will now be available 7 days per week.
You and covered family members, of any age, may also obtain flu shots from your physician or health clinic. Anthem will pay 100% of the allowed amount for a flu shot provided by an in-network physician or health clinic. (See below for more details).
Pharmacy Free Flu Shot Program for Employees and Family Members
For employees and family members (age 7 and older) who are covered by the University’s Anthem/Express Scripts health plans, Human Resources has entered an agreement with Express Scripts to provide 100% coverage of flu shots at participating pharmacies. PLEASE NOTE: the flu mist is not available.
Current participating Athens area pharmacies include CVS, Fruth Pharmacy, Kroger and The Drugstore at O’Bleness. Employees are encouraged to call their preferred pharmacy to check whether or not the pharmacy will bill the flu shots to Express Scripts.
Flu shots provided by pharmacies will covered at 100% only if the pharmacy is willing to bill Express Scripts. Employees must present their Express Scripts identification card to the pharmacy.
Pharmacies will not be able to provide shots for children under age 7.
Flu Shots Provided by a Physician and/or Health Clinic
Anthem will pay 100% of the allowed amount for a flu shot provided by an in-network physician or health clinic.
If the clinic or physician charges for an office visit or if they apply any other fees for the flu shot, the employee will be responsible for the office visit copay and/or the additional fees.
Flu vaccinations received from non-network physicians or clinics will not be reimbursed 100%.
