Ohio University’s Housing and Residence Life is proud to recognize the accomplishments of our staff, student staff and residents.
ROOMPACT: Room Condition Reports, Roommate Agreements and student-utilized forms can now all be completed electronically through Roompact, a company committed to student success in residence halls.
MY COLLEGE ROOMIE: Incoming first-year students can now connect with potential roommates and build friendship connections before they even come to campus through this newly implemented software system. Read more about MCR here.
MAIL CENTERS: Residential students receive their mail and packages via centralized mail centers. Mail centers offer students a more streamlined delivery process, convenient pick-up hours, and email notification when packages are available for pick-up.
3.0 CLUB: During fall semester 2017, students within 30 of our residence halls collectively achieved a 3.0 GPA or above! Read more about the 3.0 Club and the Presidential Scholarship Reception here.
RESIDENT G.P.A.: Over 4,400 on-campus residents, approximately 60 percent, achieved a 3.0 GPA or higher during fall semester 2017!
GENDER NEUTRAL HOUSING: Options for residents seeking Gender Neutral Housing continue to expand. During the 2018-19 academic year, students can select into six residence halls accommodating any student of any gender.
RESIDENT ASSISTANT PROGRAMS: RAs held over 3,000 programs for our on-campus residents during the 2017-18 year. In total, these programs had nearly 25,000 attendees!
MARTI AND STEWIE CRAFT NIGHT: This year marked the 17th year of Marti and Stewie craft night . The program stands strong as 60-140 students attend the weekly, late night program.
tRAC AND HALL COUNCIL: Residents and student staff raised over $4,000 for presents to support the Athens Children and Family Services Christmas Tree program.
OHIO LATE NIGHTS: This late night program held every Saturday continues to be a student favorite. This year, the OLN team hosted 28 programs with a total of over 3,100 students in attendance!
TRADITION OF THEMES: Since 1987, Housing and Residence Life staff and students have developed and embraced the annual theme. The 30-year theme milestone was reached in 2017. Read about all 31 themes here.
JEFFERSON HALL: Jefferson Hall underwent a full-renovation in 2016-17, reopening to students for fall semester 2017. The renovation included all residential rooms and restrooms. Lounges, study rooms, laundry spaces and a kitchen were added in the renovation.
THE EAST END: Included in the Jefferson Hall renovation was a redesign of the first floor, now called The East End. This area includes a game room, large meeting space, study rooms, the East Green Mail Center, and serves as “living room” for all on-campus students.
GAMERTSFELDER HALL: Renovated in summer 2017, Gam Hall now has a modern lobby as well as a full kitchen and additional study rooms.
JAMES RENOVATIONS: Setting a new standard for renovations, the James lobby and restrooms were fully renovated in summer 2016. A full kitchen and laundry room were also added.
SPA-INSPIRED RESTROOMS: As Housing and Residence Life moves forward with renovating residence hall restrooms, many are receiving a spa-inspired refresh. Halls updated with this style restroom currently include Boyd, James, Jefferson and Tiffin.
