Behind the scenes: Halloween in the residence halls

Each year, the Housing and Residence Life staff diligently prepare for the Halloween celebration in Athens as hundreds of guests arrive on OHIO’s campus to stay with students in the residence halls. Preparation for Halloween weekend begins months prior to the event with disseminating information to both on and off-campus residents, posting bulletin board materials, the hosting of mandatory floor section meetings by resident assistants, a rigorous on-campus guest registration process, and more.

Halloween weekend in the residence halls has become a seamless process, according to Housing and Residence Life Executive Director Pete Trentacoste. “We have a great formula for how to run Halloween weekend,” shared Trentacoste, “but it does not happen by accident. It is because of the hard work and diligence of our student and professional staff.”

The following infographic illustrates the time and energy spent by the Housing and Residence Life staff, both on and off campus, to help ensure a safe Halloween weekend.
