Honors Tutorial College Staff

The staff at the Honors Tutorial College are a tight-knit group of professionals who strive to provide an enriching and highly individualized learning environment for students.

Cary Roberts Frith

Interim Dean

Cary Roberts Frith's affiliation with the Honors Tutorial College spans several decades. She graduated from the HTC Journalism program of study and credits the rigors of her tutorial education with much of her professional success. Before re-entering the academy in 2002 as a Park Doctoral Fellow at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she spent more than a decade in magazine, newsletter, and online publishing. She worked as an editor at CompuServe Magazine and as managing editor and later associate publisher of Resources for Educators, a division of Wolters Kluwer. She joined HTC from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism faculty where she served as a frequent HTC tutor and thesis advisor. She received the HTC Distinguished Faculty Mentor Award twice and a College of Communication Transformative Faculty award. She loves the interdisciplinary nature of HTC and the rich intellectual community it fosters. She lives with her husband, daughter, three dogs, and three horses on a farm outside of Athens.
