Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is one of the five shared governance bodies within Ohio University administration and recognized by the Board of Trustees. The purpose of GSS is to act as the official representative body of graduate students enrolled at Ohio University. GSS "is to participate in the formulation and application of both university and community policy, and with the goal of enhancing the quality of life and education of all graduate students"(
GSS Constitution, approved by Board of Trustees 4-11-03).
Because the GSS plays an active role in shaping university policy, getting involved with the Graduate Student Senate is a great way to better the Ohio University student experience, connect with graduate students from other disciplines, and become a student leader. If you are interested in getting involved at Ohio University, we welcome you to check out our
page, and hope you will consider joining the Graduate Student Senate.

Come to our meetings!
GSS holds General Body Meetings twice a month in
Walter Hall, Room 235, which are open to the public. Students and members of the community are encouraged to use this opportunity to keep abreast with University and national matters that specifically impact graduate students. Every meeting has a Speak Out session at the top of our agenda (around 7:30/7:45 PM); students, faculty, or community members can use this opportunity to speak out on matters and to inform the body on matters relevant to graduate students.
