Community Scorecard

Joining a sorority or fraternity is a lifelong commitment. Ohio University cares about the success of each of our students and organizations. As an office, we want to ensure you have good information to help you make the best decisions.

The Sorority & Fraternity Scorecard has been created to help students and families be better informed on the accomplishments and current status of each of our sororities and fraternities. The data is gathered from the Pawprint Accreditation program which serves as a comprehensive quality assessment of Ohio University’s Sororities and Fraternities.

The Pawprint has been designed to ensure that member groups are committed to providing the highest quality experience for its members that aligns with the core values of Ohio University and their individual chapters.

Data collected from the Pawprint will provide OHIO sorority and fraternity stakeholders with a year-long snapshot of the contributions made by community members.

Program Structure

The program reviewed chapter performance over one calendar year through the submission of narratives, event summaries, chapter programs, form submissions, and other detailed supplemental materials.

The Pawprint, originally comprised of eight different standards, now reduced to six, assesses operational areas which have been identified by industry best practices and current community priorities.

Areas assessed for the 2021–2022 academic year:

  • Chapter operations
  • Health and safety
  • Member development
  • Community impact
  • Diversity and inclusion
  • Recruitment and retention

Scoring was assessed quantitatively through both online submissions and chapter coach meetings. Each chapter was provided with the scoring rubric at the start of the year.

Chapters were scored in each print, and overall: Satisfactory, Proficient, and Exemplary. Those chapters unable to meet a satisfactory score will receive a score of Insufficient and work with a member of the Sorority & Fraternity Life staff to receive additional support for the upcoming year.

Exemplary

Those groups achieving an “exemplary” designation have exceeded all expectations.

This is the highest-ranking that a chapter can achieve.

Proficient

Chapters receiving a “proficient” designation have met all of the outlined expectations.

Satisfactory

For this rating, all expectations have been met, but there is room to improve. It is recommended that chapters continue to work closely with their chapter coach to increase their score for the upcoming year.

Insufficient

These chapters will be placed on a restorative action plan to ensure that they are making the necessary improvements for the upcoming year. While this is not a full reflection of the chapter, it is important that chapters maintain a satisfactory score in order to be recognized as an active chapter. Two years as “insufficient” may result in the loss of chapter recognition.
