Notable Alumni

Ohio University’s notable graduate alumni include Venkatraman “Venki” Ramakrishnan, Ph.D. ’76, 2009 Nobel Prize recipient in Chemistry. Alumni lead major corporations such as Sony Pictures Entertainment, Huffy Corp., Minor League Baseball, and NIKE Retail and have their works of art in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum, and British Museum.

Distinguished Faculty

Distinguished faculty include Alfred Eckes, history, an expert on international trade and former commissioner and chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission; John Kopchick, biomedical sciences, inventor of an FDA-approved drug for the treatment of acromegaly, a form of gigantism; Rajko Grlic, internationally renowned filmmaker; and Tad Malinski, chemistry and biochemistry, world-renowned expert on the role of nitric oxide in human health.
