Ohio University

Graduate Writing & Research Center

The Graduate Writing & Research Center (GWRC) at Ohio University is an innovative learning space for graduate and undergraduate students and postdocs who are working on major writing projects like theses, dissertations, journal articles, grants, and job search materials or on conference presentations, conference posters, or multimedia projects. We also offer research support by partnering with the University's subject librarians and providing tutoring in research methods and statistics.

Students may make appointments 10 days in advance either face-to-face or online. Postdocs are welcome to participate in walk-in sessions. Learn more about the expertise of individual tutors.

We also provide workshops, writing groups, thesis/dissertation tutoring, graduate writing retreats, class presentations, and other related services to the Ohio University community. For information on TAD deadlines, formatting or submission, see the TAD website. If you would like a member of the GWRC staff to talk to your class about the GWRC's services or to teach your class about a writing-related issue (e.g. literature reviews), please complete the GWRC Presentation and Teaching Request Form and email to gwrc@ohio.edu. Both presentations and teaching are subject to staff availability.

The GWRC is directed by Dr. Talinn Phillips and is located in Alden 309. The Associate Director is David Johnson. Contact us at gwrc@ohio.edu. Our office number is (740) 593-2642.
