Graduate Certificate / Endorsement Application
Use this application to apply for admission to a specific certificate or professional licensure endorsement.
This is a non-degree status. With limited exceptions, programs are not eligible for financial aid.
Before continuing with the application, make sure you are familiar with the minimum requirements for admission.
All documents received by Ohio University in connection with an application become the property of Ohio University. Under no circumstances will they be returned or forwarded to any agency or other college or university. Documents for applicants who are not admitted or who are admitted but do not register are retained for one year and then destroyed.
Your application must include:
- A copy of the official transcript from the institution where a bachelor's degree has been or will be granted, OR
- A copy of the official transcript from the institution where a master's or doctoral degree has been granted, OR
- Educational licensure programs may accept proof of a current Ohio teacher's license in lieu of a transcript.
NOTE: Transcripts must include the name of the institution, the dates attended, a complete listing of courses and transfer credits, and the signature of the university registrar or other designated official. Documents downloaded from a student portal or marked "display transcript", "for internal use", or "this is not an official transcript" do not fulfill the transcript requirement for an application.
Letters of Recommendation
Some certificate programs may require recommendations. Review the program's website for details.
If recommendations are requested, the online application incorporates a secure online letter of recommendation system. You will need to provide the e-mail address of each of your recommenders if you wish to use the online recommendation system. Recommendations submitted through the online system should come from the recommender’s professional or business e-mail account rather than a personal e-mail account (e.g. John.Doe@StateU.edu, not JNDoe9952@gmail.com). Please check with your intended recommenders before listing them on your application to confirm their willingness to provide a recommendation on your behalf.
Requirements for any supplemental material (e.g., personal statement, resume) vary by program. Review the program's website for details. Any required test scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to the Graduate College, institution code 1593.
