Become an Executive
The GSS Executive Officer is a great opportunity for graduate students to meet new people from all colleges and departments of OHIO Athens campus to advocate and promote the physical, mental, and social well-being of the graduate student body by working closely with the administration to communicate the needs and wants of graduate students. You will have the privilege of learning about leadership, responsibility, and the inner workings of GSS, which will be very beneficial for your career.
Eligibility & Conditions

Must be enrolled as a graduate or professional student currently the 2022-2023

Must be a student in good academic standing.

Must have 20% affirmation of your qualifications from current GSS body by collecting signatures via email from 20% of the GSS body (20%=10 members). No physical signature is needed. Contact information can be found on the GSS roster
GSS Election Timeline 2022-2023
- February 15th – Application for all executive positions are open with a qualtrics link posted on social media and the GSS website. Link is reusable and should be able to be sent in email form as well.

February 28th – Applications close at midnight

March 1st – Signature verification at general body meeting.

March 2nd – Applicants announced and responses posted. Campaigning begins with the announcement of the candidates

March 15th – Debate with candidates at general body meeting

March 16th -23rd – Election survey is live and voting commences

March 23rd midnight – Election voting ends

March 29th – Winners are announced and/or run-off election is declared

April 4th – 11th – Run-off elections are held

April 12th – Winners of run-off election are declared at general body meeting. Newly elected executives are sworn in.
