What skills do you feel you've gained from going on a global program?

After studying in Florence, I have noticed an array of skills and qualities in my personal and professional life being strengthened. First off, I have become more independent, more confident in myself, and more appreciative of the life that I have. Secondly, I gained a lot of networking and communication skills while I was abroad. All of these skills have been extremely beneficial in my personal, academic, and professional life.

What is one of your favorite memories from your global program?

My favorite memory while studying in Florence was going truffle hunting in the countryside of Tuscany. My friends and I spent the day with our guide, Guiseppe, and his dog, Lupo, walking through the mountains and searching for truffles in the hillside. We found three truffles and each time it was such an amazing feeling to witness the connection and excitement that Guiseppe and Lupe shared. After, we headed back to Guiseppe's home where we made a four course lunch with ingredients from Guiseppe's garden and his neighbors and, of course, the truffles we found. The company, food, views, and feelings are something I will never forget.

What advice would you give a student you is interested in a global program?

Just go for it! There is so much about yourself and the world to learn and going on a global program is the perfect opportunity to accomplish those things.
