Amanda Mansfield

Amanda Hixson-Mansfield
Administrative Services Associate
WIEC 207

Amanda joined the OGO team in July 2014 as an office assistant at the front desk. Now as an Administrative Services Associate, her main duty is working with course registration for our domestic and international programs. She also works with the data statistics, oversees the front desk, and supervises a team of federal work study students.

Before her position with OGO, Amanda studied archaeology first at Hocking College and then at the University of Rio Grande. During her senior year and after graduation she worked as a paleoethnobotanist and zooarchaeologist, which basically means she analyzed plant and animal remains from local Native American sites. Amanda also participated on several field projects in the tristate region.

Amanda is an Athens native and loves to be outdoors. You can often find her and her two children fishing, camping, and enjoying what nature has to offer. When stuck inside she loves to read historical fiction and watch sci-fi and fantasy movies and shows. This may be why one of her favorite things about Athens is our very own pop culture convention Ratha Con!

Schedule with her to discuss: course registration for global opportunities.
