Ohio University hosts a variety of distinguished international visitors and delegations. The Office of Global Affairs  plans visit itineraries according to the interests of visitors, connecting the visitors with their counterparts at OHIO and promoting dialogue on issues of common interest. Recent Visits

July 2016:  His Excellency, Honorable Dominic K. Biwott – Deputy Governor, Nandi County in Kenya and His Excellency, Dr. Stanley Kenei Tarus – Deputy Governor, Trans-Nzoia County in Kenya visited the Ohio University-Dublin Campus for meetings with the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine.

April 2016: Japan Consul General Mitsuhiro Wada, who works out of the Consulate Office in Detroit, Michigan, visited the Ohio University campus with Political and Economic Advisor Bil Schlatter. During his time at OHIO, the Consul General met with faculty, staff and students, took part in a luncheon and gave a lecture titled, "U.S.- Japan Relations and Ohio." April 2016: Basem Saraireh, the President of the Arabian Education Group and CEO of Tajseer Recruitment Agency, and Khalid Alfulih, the President of Expert Systems and President of Al-Sorooh, visited Ohio University. The two OHIO alumni work in Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

March 2016: Ohio University welcomed several delegations from Chubu University and the Iwate Prefectural University, both located in Japan, to campus for different events. One main event was to present Chubu University Professor Haruka Wazaki with the inaugural Tanaka-OHIO Award for Excellence in Global Education. One other main activity involved representatives from Chubu University’s Daiichi High School meeting with Athens High School officials to discuss potential areas for collaboration. February 2016: Indonesian Consul General, from the Chicago office, Hon. Mr. Andriana Supandy visited Ohio University along with Harlianto Tarmizi, Consul for Protocol and Consular Affairs, and Jepri Edi, Consul for Information and Social - Cultural Affairs.

November 2015: David Newman, the Botswana Ambassador to the U.S., visited Ohio University along with Master Barongwa Baidpid, the Training Attache for the Embassy of the Republic of Botswana, to meet with students, faculty and staff, serve as a judge in the Global Health Case Competition and attend the Global Engagement Awards Ceremony.

November 2015: Dr. Someshwar Rudrappa Vadrabade, who is the Vice Principal of the Gopikabai Sitaram Gawande College in India, visited campus to meet with faculty, staff and students.

October 2015: Shamsul A.B., Distinguished Professor in Malaysia, visited OHIO for the official welcome of Tun Abdul Razak Chair Jayum Jawan.

September 2015: Ohio University’s Global Leadership Center welcomed to campus Herbert Quelle, the Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Midwest region of the U.S. The Consul General traveled to OHIO to take part in the Global Leadership Center’s 25 Years of German Unity event.
