Since the 1970s, International Week has allowed students from diverse backgrounds to experience and learn from the traditions of their friends, classmates, and fellow members of the Athens community.
International Education Week
International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs' efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States.
Athens International Film and Video Festival
Founded in 1974, the Athens International Film and Video Festival has presented independent films from around the world. The Festival is sponsored by the Athens Center for Film and Video, a project of the College of Fine Arts at Ohio University.

International Student Union sponsors a wide range of international events at Ohio University throughout the year.
