Global Program Coordinator
Megan Avellana began working in the Office of Global Opportunities in March 2017. She earned her Master of Arts in International Education from New York University and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Spanish from Baldwin-Wallace College. She studied abroad in Granada, Spain for a summer and Sevilla, Spain for a semester during her undergraduate studies and also participated in a faculty-led program to India during her Master's program.
Previous to joining the team at OHIO, Megan worked for Global Pathways at Pace University in New York City, advising international graduate students during their time in the university's English language bridge program. Megan also worked at a study abroad program provider, International Studies Abroad (ISA) in Austin, Texas, for 3 years. At ISA, Megan held a variety of roles including Spain Site Specialist, Regional Director of University Relations for Ohio and Indiana and Student Services Advisor. Megan has traveled to Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, France, Spain, Morocco, Portugal, Ireland, Hungary, Slovenia, Colombia, Japan, India and Scotland.
In her free time, Megan enjoys cooking vegetarian meals, taking walks, reading, going out to eat, and spending time with her husband and her cat, Marshmallow!
