Advising at Global Opportunities
We have a student-centered, proactive advising approach, in which we provide you with support as you explore the vast number of global opportunities available. We know that it can be challenging navigating and selecting from all of the great opportunities out there. Our goal is to equip you with the tools necessary to make informed decisions about programs that will best fit into your academic and career goals.
Global Opportunities 101
Your first step on your path to a global opportunity! We offer regularly scheduled group advising presentations on the basics of global programs. Come in by yourself or with a friend to hear about how to get started planning your global program. Presentations will last about 20 minutes with time for questions.
Monday- Friday- Sessions begin at 1, 2 and 3pm throughout fall and spring semester
August 29th-September 23- Sessions will ALSO be held on every half hour: 1:30, 2:30, & 3:30
After you have the basics down from GO101, there are likely more questions that will come up as you continue your planning process. Walk-in advising is a great resource to help you through any stage of the program planning process. Our peer advisors can walk you through anything from choosing a program to applying to packing for your travels.
Monday- Friday (during the semester)
*No Appointment Necessary!
Advising by Appointment
There are many reasons you may prefer to schedule an appointment with a professional advisor. Perhaps you want to speak with one of our staff members specifically or walk-in advising times do not fit into your schedule. Maybe you'd like to talk about a sensitive subject that you'd rather not disclose to a peer advisor or maybe a peer advisor has advised you a few times and has suggested you meet with a professional to finish planning your experience. Whatever the reason, appointment advising is always an option.
To request an advising appointment contact the Office of Global Opportunities at 740.593.4583 or send us an e-mail at email@example.com.
