Summer Language Program

Looking for an intensive language program this summer?

Ohio University will be offering Akan, Setswana, Swahili and Wolof this summer!

 

Program dates: June 26- August 11, 2017

 

 

This intensive summer African languages program will allow students will earn course credit equivalent to one academic year of instruction. Classes will meet 5 hours a day, Monday through Friday, and are taught by native speakers of the respective languages.

Registration

Ohio University Students can register for the intensive language program through the normal way of registration.

NON OHIO students will need to apply to OHIO as Non- Degree seeking applicants. Graduate students will need to complete a  Non-Degree application  in order to register for classes. The program code is ND 4206.

The same tuition fees apply for NON-Ohio students as for Ohio students. Please also send email Bose Maposa (maposa@ohio.edu) when applying.

Getting to Athens

Ohio University is located in Athens, Ohio at the edge of the Hocking Hills. The nearest airport is Columbus International Airport in Columbus, Ohio. From Columbus you can rent a car or make arrangements with Athens Airport Shuttle to Athens. Athens is approximately 90 miles southeast of Columbus, Ohio on Route 33. You will be responsible for securing your own transportation to and from Athens and arranging for your won accommodations. We will however circulate a list of students looking for housing.

Go Bus

The company runs buses three times daily from Columbus Airport to Athens. If possible, schedule your arrival in Columbus around the 2 departure times of the Go Bus. The ticket is $11.00.

From Port Columbus Airport to Athens
6:35 a.m, 10:00 a.m. and 3:20 p.m.

From Athens to Port Columbus Airport
5:15 a.m., 12:20 p.m. and 5:40 p.m.
