Assistant Director of the School of Dance, Film, and Theater, Rani is a writer, director, actor, filmmaker, teacher, and collaborative interdisciplinary artist. For over twenty years, Rani has been making and performing work from Stand Up comedy in New York Comedy Clubs to multimedia installations to dance theater collaborations to filmmaking. Rani's short films have been screened at the Maryland International Film Festival, Mykonos Biennale, Toronto Short Film Festival, Sanford International Film Festival, Cayman Islands International Film Festival, Wexner Center's OHIO SHORTS, Chicago Reel International Shorts Festival, and the Athens International Film and Video Festival among others. Her screenplays have been recognized by the Women's Independent Film Festival and Hollywood Screenplay Contest. Rani’s dance theater collaborations include the creation of the French and English piece, Les Jeux D'Amour, performed at the Aronoff Center as part of Cincinnati Contemporary Dance Theater's Choreographers Without Companies show, and the Johnstone New Music Foundation’s production of  the Stravinsky/ Kurt Vonnegut version of A Soldier's Tale. Her six volume multi media installation of The Spoon River Anthology was part of Migiwa Orimo's Telephone Booth Project, a finalist for the International Public Art Award. Her solo performance work includes her Julia Child site specific comic character, and the multimedia The New Woman Gets A Room of Her Own: a Performance Lecture with Hats. Rani also serves on the Board for the national poetry publication, Mobius.  Rani holds a BA Theater/Dance from Antioch College and an MFA Film from Ohio University
