Seana Higgins is a Chicago-born artist working in clay and multi-media. She received a BFA in art education and ceramics from University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 2008 and did a year of study at Louisiana State University in 2010. She has taught visual arts in a variety of settings including Chicago Public Schools, Lillstreet Art Center, Terra Incognito Studio and Urban Gateways. Higgins was a resident artist at Terra Incognito in Oak Park, Illinois and a short term resident at Red Lodge Clay Center in 2012. She has exhibited in several local and national exhibitions including Bowl Me Over, the 2009 Lillstreet International Juried Exhibition, Union Street Gallery's 2012 national juried exhibition, Wanna Play, and Out of the Blue, a juried exhibition at the Missoula Clay Studio in Missoula, Montana. Higgins is a first year MFA candidate in the Ceramics department at Ohio University and continues to work both functionally and sculpturally in clay.
