Mindy Kay Smith
Adjunct Professor of Voice
Ohio native Mindy Kay Smith earned her Bachelors Degree in Music Education (piano principal) and Masters Degree in Secondary Education from Ohio University. During her time as a Bobcat she was active in the Marching 110, University Singers, and Cheerleading. She later earned a Masters Degree in Vocal Performance/Music Theatre from NYU. Favorite professional roles include Little Sally in “Urinetown,” Squeaky Fromme in “Assassins,” and the title role in the NYC premier of “Maggie the Pirate.” She was the co-founder and Artistic Director of Momentum Repertory Company for five years before starting her private studio, Momentum Music and Arts. Mindy is especially known for her ability to understand and reach every individual student, from young beginners to Broadway veterans. She currently resides in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, Ryan and their daughter, Lily.
