Students who major in music education choose an emphasis in either choral or instrumental music—and receive a balanced program of applied music, theoretical studies, professional education studies, and field work experiences.

One of the oldest music therapy degree programs in the United States, this program offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees and follows a long history of quality teaching and preparation for a successful career in the field of music therapy.

The Bachelor of Arts in Music (B.A.) is designed for students with excellent musicianship who seek a broader degree program than is typically possible within a B.M. curriculum— allowing more opportunities for study in a second area of interest.

The School of Music offers two minor degrees. The Minor in Music is offered to students who wish to continue studying music while pursuing a different major. The Minor in Jazz Studies is intended for undergraduates who wish to emphasize the study of jazz in addition to their major area of focus.
