For students who wish to combine scholarly study with artistic work at the Ph.D. level, the School of Interdisciplinary Arts provides the Scholar/Artist track. This integration is a nascent program that consists of a scholarly and creative dissertation, rather than a traditional focus.

The topic of Interdisciplinary Arts as defined by faculty in our program, from historians, to performers, musicologists to theater scholars, each brings a unique perspective to the understanding of the interdisciplinary research community.

The School of Interdisciplinary Arts offers competitive graduate teaching associate stipends which include a tuition scholarship. Among these, two maxi stipends are awarded annually.
