Entrance Counseling

Before you receive your first Federal Direct Student Loans, the federal government requires you to participate in Entrance Counseling. The purpose of Entrance Counseling is to educate you about student loans so that you will be a well-informed borrower. Entrance Counseling covers such topics as interest rates, repayment options, your rights and responsibilities, the consequences of default, etc.

All first-time Federal Direct Student Loan Borrowers need to complete Entrance Counseling online.  The department of education requires you to use your FSA ID to access the web site.
