Deb Shaffer - VP Finance and Administration

As Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration, Deb Shaffer is responsible for all finance and administrative departments that provide services that support the academic mission of Ohio University. Shaffer joined Ohio University in 2013 as Senior Associate Vice President for Finance and Administration. She stepped into the role of Vice President of Finance and Administration in 2016, and also fills the roles of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the Board of Trustees.

Shaffer's background includes extensive financial and executive level experience from positions in healthcare, higher education consulting, and over eight years as Carnegie Mellon University's Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer. She has also held leadership roles at KPMG Consulting's National Higher Education Practice, the Allegheny Health, Education and Research Foundation, and the Allegheny University of the Health Sciences. Additionally, she has served on numerous higher education and non-profit boards. Shaffer is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management Executive Leadership Program and received her Bachelor of Science in finance from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
