Candidates for Faculty Senate Officer Positions

Elections will take place at the April 14 Faculty Senate meeting. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor.


Beth Quitslund, English (College of Arts and Sciences)
       Dr. Quitslund has served several terms on Faculty Senate (2007-2009, 2010-2013, 2013-present). She has held the office of Secretary of the senate since 2011, and has been a member of the Faculty Senate Executive Committee since 2010. She was a member of the Educational Policy and Student Affairs Committee and the University Curriculum Council (2007-2009). She served as the senate representative on the most recent VP for Student Affairs search committee, and currently serves on the Tuition Guarantee Implementation Team and the General Education Task Force. She is also the Undergraduate Director for the Department of English.

Vice Chair

David Thomas, Film (College of Fine Arts)
       Dr. Thomas currently holds the office of Vice Chair of Faculty Senate and serves on the Faculty Senate Executive Committee. His current Faculty Senate term began in 2012; he has served several terms earlier as well, including serving as Vice Chair and Chair of the University Curriculum Council during the quarters-to-semesters transition. Dr. Thomas co-chaired the 2010 General education Committee funded by an 1804 Grant, instituted the "Friday Group"  task force for UCC, and developed policies to resolve disagreements between departments or colleges over course ownership or names.

Katie Hartman, Marketing (College of Business)
       Dr. Hartman has been a member of Faculty Senate since 2012. As a member of the Educational Policy and Student Affairs committee, she has served on the University Curriculum Council (program review subcommittee), and currently serves as the EPSA representative on the Copyright Task Force and the Trimester Task Force. She is also Director of Assessment for the College of Business.
