Ohio University is committed to enhancing access and inclusion for persons living with disabilities. The following highlights the progress made.

The Presidential Advisory Council on Disability and Accessibility Planning (PACDAP) led a strategic planning process to set goals, vision and priorities for the university around inclusion and accessibility. The process is documented in the minutes for PACDAP meetings prior to 2014

 

2014–2015

PACDAP submitted the University Disability Strategic Plan for Inclusion and Accessibility to President Roderick McDavis in June 2014. He provided it to the Board of Trustees that summer.

2015–2016

PACDAP and Strategic Plan Implementation Team membership, charges and accomplishments during its first year of implementation.

In recognition of the conclusion of the strategic planning process, the President reconstituted PACDAP in July 2016 to be the "Presidentially Appointed Committee on Disability and Accessibility Promotion" (PACDAP) and charged them to lead the institution's implementation of the Disability Strategic Plan.
 
 

2016–2017

With the completion of the Information Technology Accessibility Policy 04.001, the Department Self-Assessment for Inclusion and Accessibility, and the university’s commitment to hiring a consultant to do an ADA Transition Plan to Remove Barriers, PACDAP is reviewing the Strategic Plan and discussing university priorities with President M. Duane Nellis, to align its next initiatives accordingly. An initial priority is to design a response strategy for the Department Self-Assessment.
