Sustainable Energy and Advanced Materials

The Sustainable Energy and Advanced Materials (SEAM) laboratory is led by the world’s foremost researcher in coal syngas utilization, Dr. Sunggyu “K.B.” Lee. Just a few miles off campus, Lee and his team of graduate and undergraduate researchers develop groundbreaking applications of chemical process engineering. Whether studying alternative fuels and energy systems, testing new biodegradable plastics and polymers, or optimizing the processing of shale gas extraction, the SEAM lab is home to technology that creates for good.

For details about Lee and his extensive research areas, specific projects, or licensable technology, visit the SEAM lab’s research site.
